Welcome to DogBarkCollars-4less.com! TRAINING WITH DOG BARK COLLARS Before placing an activated bark collars on the dog, carefully choose the first situation in which it is going to be used. This situation must be one with limited and if possible no distractions. If you have a visitor over for the initial training, the dog may associate the corrective pulse to being caused by the visitor and not the barking. It is also important that the dog be well supervised by the owner and not left alone during initial training. This is a new experience for the dog as well and it is necessary to be present for the dog to trust you with this new method of training.

Day One

• Positive reinforcement is the most effective reinforcement. You must select a reward, a small piece of food, that the dog finds very desirable and that he will accept every time to assist with training.
• The dog owner must then place the bark collar around the dog's neck for approximately 2 to 3 hours. Make sure the collar is fitted in the same manner that it will be during actual training. Refer to the product manual to ensure the collar is fitted properly.
• After the collar has been on the dog’s neck for a short period of time, give the dog a food reward. Repeat this reward several times, as the dog wears the collar.

Day Two
Repeat day one’s procedures for over a 5 to 6 hour period.

Day Three
This will be the first day that the dog receives the correction. Be prepared for the dog to become startled by this, as the dog will not be prepared the first time. It is vital that this part of the training be supervised by the owner and performed in an environment with no distractions. The dog must be able to make the connection between the corrective pulse and the barking. Doing this in a noisy and busy environment will confuse the dog.
